The object of the get pushed challenge is to be pushed out of your comfort zone, to push your photography limits so you can grow. Jim @jnr cetainly did that when he challenged me to some street photography!
I am so shy with a camera. I just do not want to offend people. But, I was able to catch this lady having a cigarette break casually leaning up against her doorway.
I liked the way the door and bricks framed her so did not crop the photo to get her closer.
Thank you for the great challenge, Jim! @jnr As you can see - I still have a ways to go before I am totally comfortable with street photography but this is a start!
I like this, it tells a story. For me Street Photography is too often confused with Candid Photography and everybody has their own definition of what it is! We have been paired for Get Pushed this week so my assignment for you is to actually get out there on the street and photograph it—imagine that the area where you live will cease to exist this time next week through a zombie invasion or some such and take one photograph that shows what the street is like. It would probably help to imagine that you are a tourist and remember it is the street that you are on that matters, what the character of that street is. Have fun!
Hi Mary, I have just posted my get pushed challenge, here is the link https://365project.org/allsop/kami/2019-09-19. Thanks for this challenge which I had to think rather hard about how I could do it!
