With a long and interesting history, 108 Mile Ranch became swept up in the Cariboo Gold Rush in the late 1850s where the 108 Mile Hotel operated from 1875 to 1885.
108 Mile features a Heritage Site with a collection of eleven historical buildings on three hectares, including the old Clydesdale barn built in 1908 to house 200 Clydesdales., one of the largest in Canada, the 105 Mile roadhouse, the 108 Mile telegraph office, and the 1867 hotel and store
It was named 108 Mile because it was 108 Miles along the Cariboo Wagon Trail that started in Lillooet on the Fraser River. For more information, check out this great site: https://www.hellobc.com/road-trips/gold-rush-trail/
