Jacqueline gave me the following quote: “The only joy in the world is to begin” as my get pushed challenge.
The quote intrigued me so I researched who said it. I discovered that Cesare Pavese was an Italian novelist, poet, and translator who committed suicide in 1950 after living through the Second World War, which would explain the cynicism found in it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cesare_Pavese
While I do not necessarily agree with the quote, I can understand why Cesare Pavese makes mention of only beginnings and not that which follows. I personally believe there is also joy in a job well done and a life well lived.
Morning is a joyful time at the beginning of the day. This was shot at a pioneer community cemetery as the sun was rising. While there is no joy in death, Hubby reminded me that our joy comes from the blood, sweat, and tears of those who came before us. They laid the foundation for the rest of us to build on. They were the beginning.
Thank you, Jacqueline, for an awesome challenge that had me thinking about how I wanted to respond. And, thank you, Lord, for giving me a sunrise on the only morning I could do this shot!

Not to worry - so sorry about not getting to you earlier! I usually give my challenge on Sunday afternoon but my daughter and her two boys came over, then I had to count the votes, then i forgot!
So - I am glad you reminded me.
You can expect a challenge soon (after I eat supper!!)

So glad I was able to catch the sunrise this morning for it.
