R is our Head Cook, me Bottle Washer! As a result of a malaise some years ago, l lost my senses of taste, hearing and smell…to a greater or lesser extent. End of cooking. No big deal, l'm alive!
There is a saying in Dutch: "liefde gaat door de maag". Translation : "love goes through the stomach". So I believe that is why we feed our husbands ;)

do you remember a few years back when there was news that the prisons would no longer serve the inmates bacon and eggs and there was a protest from the prisoners, and from the human rights group? many poor folks also protested because they could hardly afford anything to eat, dependent on food banks and the charity of the church, and the prisoners were being fed bacon and eggs? i don't know what happened to that, but i thought it was kind of silly. or maybe it was that the prisoners were being fed bacon and eggs and they were saying it's bad for the health.
