The roads were ice covered and terrible until Nipigon, Ontario but turned to bare (but wet) pavement once past the gorgeous bridge that spanned the river.
This was taken from the passenger seat on a long down hill with Lake Superior in the distance.

The southern route along the north shore of Lake Superior is absolutely gorgeous! So rugged and rocky, with a ton of steep hills and dramatic views.
Just take it slow when the roads are bad.
