A B.C. Grain Elevator

British Columbia is not thought of as a prairie province, but it does have several grain elevators.
The town of Creston, British Columbia has two grain elevators. One is an ex Alberta Wheat Pool grain elevator, built in 1935, which is attached to an art gallery.
This one is an ex United Grain Growers elevator, built in 1936.
Both elevators were purchased by the Columbia Basin Trust in June 2018. They were previously owned by Ray Gauthier. The roofs and windows will be replaced and they will be evaluated for future use.
The elevator refurbishment started on the AWP one in 2021 and is scheduled to complete in 2023. The former AWP elevator received new siding, upgrades to the foundation, and area grading to improve drainage.
