My Get Pushed challenge this week comes from Lisa @homeschoolmom who asked me to produce a photograph depicting the work of a painter I liked.
My first thought was Andrew Wyeth because I admire his style very much, and used to have "Master Bedroom" hanging in the bedroom. It is a painting of a white bed in a white room with a white dog snuggled up asleep in the middle of the bed, sunlight streaming through the windows. Sadly I couldn't attempt this as the bed is in the wrong position, the bedding is the wrong colour, and so are the dogs.
I then thought of Georgia O'Keeffe. She did a lot of work with flowers, skulls and leaves. Didn't know where to find a skull, but the woods are full of leaves. So this is my interpretation of 'Purple Leaves', nowhere near her standard, and the colours aren't faithfully represented despite my best efforts. After having spent far too long on the above, I thought it time to call it a day!
@homeschoolmom Hi Lisa, here's my Get Pushed for this week. You would have laughed to have seen me on hands and knees in rain soaked woods taking the photos of the leaves! This has been great fun, not quite as I wanted it to be, but I spent so much time playing around I felt I had to call a halt. Hope you like it:) Felicity
I don't think you need to make things an exact replication when giving a nod to an artist. I think you've captured some of her style with this, but put a little bit of you into to it as well. Good job on the challenge!
