My challenge this week came from Wendy who asked me to try light painting. I would dearly have loved to have tried this in a bluebell wood but it's been raining and the bluebells are on top of a muddy slope, not much fun to negotiate in the dark. Also, although I'm pretty keen on photography, I didn't want to go into a wood at that time of night on my own, so I had to find an alternative.
This is a statue that stands by the garden pond. Goodness knows what the neighbours thought if they saw me prancing around with a flashlight late at night:)
@wenbow Hi Wendy, thanks so much, this has been such fun! I can see loads of possibilities for using this technique. I saw a long exposure of a bluebell wood at night many years ago and marvelled at it, not knowing how on earth it was achieved. Must get a bigger flashlight and some company to go with!
My main difficulty was finding something of interest in the garden, nothing is really blooming yet. The only adjustments have been to remove a couple of stray twigs that crept into the picture, and removing a slug from the statue's back. Focussing was a little fiddly in the dark, and getting the timing right took a while. Hope it fits the bill! Felicity
Beautiful capture of this statue growing over by the moss. Fav.

Love this and your commentary was great. My neighbours have given up to me. They accept me as I am and no doubt apologise to their visitors when I am found doing strange things in the name of photography!
