No need to comment, I've spent this evening playing with the IR camera processing and doing a bit of research on the internet. My camera is a converted camera specifically for IR which means it takes images in shades of chocolate brown and white, which can be edited to deep blue and white or pure black and white. I've been reading a most interesting article on whether you can boost the colours in a 720nm conversion more towards the bright shades of a 590nm conversion which gives pinks and blues, and golds and deep blues. As you see (if you haven't fallen asleep reading this explanation) I've managed some of the pink - the big problem is I can't remember how on earth I managed to achieve it. Also by accident I did come across a gold tone but lost that in pursuit of the pink. All a work in progress, I might never manage it again, but it gave me such a morale boost when I did stumble across it.
Definitely not to everyone's taste, possibly just mine, but I rather like trees that look like candy floss:)
@selkie If I could remember in which order I Channel swapped and used Hue and Saturation sliders and Adjustment Levels I would happily tell you - I played that much I may never be able to remember the order again!
@robz Hi Rob, I'm certainly surprised at the comments here - yes, I fiddled and faffed with the channels and added an adjustment layer of Levels and messed about with the channels there too. I hoped I might be able to use an IR filter on the camera as well with a slightly longer exposure to get the result I was after but that only works on a 590nm camera, not the 720nm - duh!!
@fbailey Hi again FB - I hadn't thought of trying an extra IR filter - it sounds like a really good idea. I did buy a cheap set of 3 ND filters that fit the camera - they seem to do the same thing to a small extent - although I'm still not really sure about how best to use them. Just need a bit more time to start playing again. Cheers Rob
