This wasn't what I had planned to post today, but this evening I found a moth in our hall perched on the door near the door handle. The artificial light gave a very yellow shot, and the position of the door handle made getting a close-up shot a bit of a challenge.
Not much I could do about the position of the door handle, but to correct the colour cast I decided to convert the image to b&w, and I boosted the contrast to enhance the pattern of the wings of the moth.
You will have to wait until tomorrow to see what I had intended to post today......
Thank you all for your lovely comments, they are very much appreciated.
The moth was highly patterned but not very colourful - mainly browns and greys. I've no idea what type of moth it is - it would be interesting to know.
I think this is the first b&w shot posted to our project for almost two years. I don't feel very comfortable with b&w, but I was reasonably happy with this result.
I understand your comments re B&W and I was exactly the same before R decided to do yhis year's main album in mono. I have been amazed and delighted by his shots and...perhaps sometime, but certainly not in the near future, I might be tempted to tread in that direction.
