i used to spend so much on shoes but the most i owned was 30 very stylish pairs at one time.
i worked with her for a week (i was on loan from another government office), and she took a fancy with my "very american accent". but the highlight was tasting her coffee to make sure there's no poison in it.
years later she saw me at the lobby of a hospital with a boyfriend; martial law was in effect and we were out late and curfew hour was in ten minutes so we sought shelter at the hospital. she was visiting someone (at 1 in the morning) but saw me right away and told us to mind the curfew next time. then told me to say hi to my boss. boyfriend was naturally impressed.
@kali66 - no, just part of her shoe collection that was salvaged - some 700 plus pairs. allegedly there were 3,200 pairs which were left damaged along with wardrobe and that of the president. the next administrations were daft, they could've auctioned them off instead of letting all go to waste.
@domenicododaro - in all fairness, she was quite nice to work for but maybe because i was just there for a week. the fact that she remembered me a few years later and seeing me in a different place other than office, it was quite remarkable. she is prone to giving 'special' things at random to her employees.
Now that is one impressive story. And you have so many of them. It looks like you have placed yourself at an appropriately suitable distance from the said 'lady' in your portrait here.

your life story is full of interesting pieces, coffee taster for Imelda, now that was dangerous work!
I meant your modest shoe collection was just the first shelf worth...
