Funny to think the corn i grow is descended from a wild grass called teosinte which was domesticated around 9000 years ago in what is now Mexico.. Teosinte started to be used as a popping corn as it had a rock hard kernal, there is nothing resembling modern corn in the wild, but over time it mutated and was selected to become the hundreds of varieties of corn and maize dispersed around the world today , a direct passing from hand to hand over generations. Pisses me off the jeopardy the likes of Monsanto puts this legacy in with wind blown pollen from their genetic engineering contaminating the old varieties , especially in Mexico.
disclaimer ! I actually use an electric coffee grinder to turn mine into flour! @kali66
I’d love to plant some corn in my place. But we have a serious problem with boars. They would end up eating all the harvest before it’s ripe! Fab concept! @kali66
@kali66 it is amazing you do that, but how wonderfully connected to the earth. It makes me mad to, the genetic engineering :( You work hard at getting clean food into your body - therefore you are forgiven the electric grinder!!! Wonderful, Kali.
