“That’s a big bar the murderer must have used to hit poor Patrick. The doctor says the back of his head [is] broken to pieces.”
“That’s why the weapon should be easy to find.” […]
“Personally, I think the weapon is somewhere near the house.”
“It’s probably right under our noses.”
‘Lamb to the Slaughter’ is a short story about the murder of Patrick Maloney by his wife Mary. Driven mad after her husband’s announcement that he’s leaving her, she fatally hits him on the head with a frozen leg of lamb she was planning on making for their supper. She proceeds on roasting the lamb, ultimately serving it to the hungry detectives – who destroy the evidence without ever realizing it…
A delicious little story!
@kerosene
Theme: Roald Dahl.
Thank you ever so much, @domenicododaro and @mikegifford – for making excellent policemen despite your innocent mistake!
you look lovely but with that sinister look. while mike is coveting the lamb leg with his eyes, DD's leering at something else. :-D excellent acting, you three! aces!
@kerosene So very well done, Caroline! you're simply perfect and @summerfield HAHAHAHA I'M DYING. If I were leering at that something else, I bet that roasted lamb would finish on the back of my own head, too LOL. Super fav.
@summerfield@kali66 hahaha nooo just the leg of lamb, just the leg of lamb! :) @domenicododaro but at least it's no longer frozen, so you shall live! ^_^
