Sorry this is not great photographically speaking but as a slice of my life I wanted to share this, to me, amazing sight. At the local pond this morning there were five blue herons lined up along the side in one area, two slightly further along and at least one other just across the pond. Here in Ontario I've never seen so many in such close proximity. I took two panorama shots of adjacent areas to show them.They are hard to pick out, especially in fairly small image like the one here so I circled them in yellow in photoshop. I'm wondering if it could be a clutch (or brood or whatever) of heron offspring but I have no idea how many youngsters are usually produced at once.
Amazing! We sometimes have a heron that comes and sits on our neighbours roof. We have no idea why as no-one seems to have a pond in their garden and the nearest local pond is half a mile away!
