It's been just below freezing here for a few days now and started snowing yesterday, just before noon. A couple of hours later, as I passed the park, I noticed that the pick up hockey games have started in again on the pond. Hard to think that the ice is very thick yet but, on the positive side, the pond is pretty shallow. Still, could make for a cold, wet experience for someone if they break through the ice.
