Wild yellow iris growing in a swampy area just off the trail.
I got on the 30 days wild challenge a few days late but I'm going for it now and hope to get it completed. I may fudge a bit on how 'wild' I go everyday. Is a garden plant wild? What about a weed that snuck into my garden? Questions to ponder. LOL
I've allowed a couple of "plants" to finish growing and flowering where they came up in my garden...they look sturdy and I'm curious to see what they are. Nothing yet as beautiful as these flags...and if they don't compare, *out they go*!
A lovely find ! What is the difference between a wild flower and a cultivated flower? I expect cultivated plants have originated as wild flowers when the botanist has admired a flower and "cultivated "it! And I like @olivetreeann comment!
@beryl I don't know the answer but it is an interesting question. It may have something to do with where you live. things that grow wild in the fields in one country might be imported into a different country where they are 'cultivated' in a garden. (Of course then, sometimes they escape and they become 'invasive' which is a whole other class.)
