This is the old wharf in Echuca on the Murray River that has now been restored and turned into a tourist precinct. We travelled daily by train from our home town, Tongala, to the wharf and then walked to the Echuca High school for our secondary education. The wharf was very run down and no tourism sites!

Echuca has certainly developed as a great tourist destination. i have a lot of great memories from my days there. The school commute was a big one - rode my bike to the station in Tongala, train to Echuca and walk, rain, hail or shine to the school :) But we were young and had fun!
