Nesting oystercatchers - I hope! by gilbertwood

Nesting oystercatchers - I hope!

The sun finally came out today and I went for walks around the beaches to enjoy the sun and find something to photograph. To my surprise i spied these oystercatchers on a rocky outcrop down near the river mouth. The one sitting did not move at all, so hopefully sitting on eggs. I will visit regularly now to see if I'm right! The rock is about 30 feet high so safe from ground predators, but quite exposed for hawks and eagles.
Well caught - hope you were not too near the edge - looks a bit perilous!!
