Should have brought my surfboard! by gilbertwood

Should have brought my surfboard!

Found this wallaby hopping around the rocks near the lighthouse at Port Fairy today. After watching him for awhile, I think he was looking for drinking water. We have had no rain so all the waterholes would be dry.
Great shot, somehow I never associate Kangaroos and Wallabies with the coast, just the deserts.

He is looking rather perplexed, this is not good drinking water. Love the waves rolling in :)

Like Mark, I never think of wallabies or kangaroos being at the sea. Hope he found some fresh water.

Aw, poor thing. I remember a few years ago there were lots of roos on the Hume highway also looking for a drop of water during a drought.

Well done to capture him. I sure hope he found something to drink

He is so perfectly posed there with the white surf as background for this little head. Weird concept when wild creatures wander into town... but I guess we have deer, so i should be used to the concept

Denise this is a great shot! Like everyone else, not what you would expect to see. But I suppose I caught wild turkeys running down the beach...so why not!
