Thanks for all your great responses to yesterday's photo - and yes most guessed it was sea foam! I was amazed at how thick and clean it was, so agree it looked like meringue or whipped cream :) Loved all the other creative answers - cake creeping out of oven, melting glacier, pancake mixture, spilled paint, wet plaster, washing detergent and yoghurt - thanks so much :)
I had to look up what causes sea foam as I couldn't remember. Here is a definition for those interested. Sea foam, ocean foam, beach foam, or spume is a type of foam created by the agitation of seawater, particularly when it contains higher concentrations of dissolved organic matter (including proteins, lignins, and lipids) derived from sources such as the offshore breakdown of algal blooms.
I though sea foam was too obvious an answer, lol. Amazing. It looks like milk in this shot. I like the information that Joan has given on what creates sea foam.
@joansmor Thanks Joan. We mainly get seafoam here when we get a lot of rain and the 2 rivers run into the sea. This usually makes the foam quite "dirty" but this lot was so white and clean - first time I've ever seen it like this :)
