This is my daughter, Natalie who is the assistant coach for the Geelong Women's Football team in the Victorian League. (Not my photo) They have just made it through to the grandfinal from 4th position. This is Aussie Rules which has mainly been a male sport. However the women's competition has gone from strength to strength and next year Natalie will coach this team and be assistant coach for the team that has been accepted into the AFLW - an Australian competition. Natalie played 190 games over 16 years and represented her state 10 times before the creation of the AFLW. She has given up her career as assistant principle at a secondary college to pursue her love of football now in a full time paid position at Geelong. If the link works, here is an interview with her - www.geelongcats.com.au/news/2018-08-28/wood-becomes-part-of-geelong-cats-history
@janeandcharlie Guess that isn't going to work either! problem probably is that the interview is on Facebook and i can't get it out of there! I don't know as I'm not very computer savvy! if you're on Facebook, look me up as I have shared it there :)
What great pride and pleasure exude from this shot and your commentary. May Natalie continue to enjoy and grow in this role...following her star and fulfilling her love of the game.
