Solitude by graemestevens

Solitude

After yesterdays efforts a touch of solitude was called for, and as I had decided to remove myself from the office and head to South Taranaki, I thought that the return trip should be made via the Coast Road with a slight detour to Upper Kaweora Road...where there is no mobile phone reception. On the downside there is a very real risk of Rednecks, banjos and people who like to say such things as "Squeal piggy" by way of greeting.
Stunning B & W!

July 17th, 2014
I love this Graeme, I grew up in the foothills of The Mountains of Mourne and miss such grandeur in the flat land of Essex!
July 17th, 2014
Waouw !!
July 17th, 2014
@ceilidh I just googled the Mountains of Mourne. Sadly we never made it to Ireland in our 7 years in the UK...one hell of an oversight, so when we go back we'll fix that. I can see why you'd miss it, just like we missed our Mountain and hills while living in Hampshire! I'm pleased you like it :)
@exouistitis Thanks very much...
July 17th, 2014
First off - Brilliant capture! Secondly I can not believe you know that movie - I lived in those Georgia mountains where it was filmed - that's where I saw the possum picked up from the middle of the road for dinner - it was something else....I was glad to make it out alive ,.,but... I did grow an affinity to banjos bwahahahaha
July 17th, 2014
Another amazing shot, Graeme. Terrific composition complimented by your b&w processing...stunning. Hope the banjo playing Rednecks didn't make you squeal too much!
July 17th, 2014
The clouds have completely altered the shape of Mount Egmont......usually so pointy it now has a slopey side! Beautiful view with all that snow.
July 17th, 2014
Amazing shot
July 17th, 2014
Such a wonderful scenery, fantastic in b&w
July 17th, 2014
I love the little fence leading the eye up into that fabulous misty covered mountain. You are scaring me....I never knew you had such a soft side ;) Well done, its a sure fav from me!
July 17th, 2014
@creativefool Firstly, thank you very much. Secondly, I had a strange and unusual upbringing but yours sounds even better ;)
@davie Thanks very much - I made it out alive but I'm walking funny...
@happypat Bit of a different view alright, thanks very much
@jacobwalsh89 Thanks, bit too cold for me though
@roseolivia Thank you very much :)
@lynnilou I think I've been possessed...please help. But thanks very much :)
July 17th, 2014
Glad came to look at your project not stumbled across this in my feed. Its a fav. That white cloud is very dramatic. Brillant in b and w. And @lynnilou you don't need to look far to find Mr S soft side. The rest is all a front. I have seen through him. Did you miss his image of a broken pencil saying he would be broken or something without his wife Kim? Now there's a man in touch with his emotions and willing to share them. Don't be fooled no more by his skilful theatre.
July 17th, 2014
@newbank Thanks very much, but for the love all that's holy and scared don't tell everyone that! Jeez....
July 17th, 2014
@newbank No I never!!!! Better check that out!!!
