After yesterdays efforts a touch of solitude was called for, and as I had decided to remove myself from the office and head to South Taranaki, I thought that the return trip should be made via the Coast Road with a slight detour to Upper Kaweora Road...where there is no mobile phone reception. On the downside there is a very real risk of Rednecks, banjos and people who like to say such things as "Squeal piggy" by way of greeting.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
Ok! I can't resist no more. I'm definitely in love with this part of New Zealand. Your way to show us your country is fabulous. More that that, the B&W is perfect. FAV
@vignouse South Taranaki is a "special" place, home to a breed of its own... @louuncouth All thanks should go to Mother Nature... @eyeamlisa Thanks very much - took me ages to build it ;) @louuncouth France can have our ones as well... @hermann Thanks very much, appreciated :) @bigugly Thanks very much @golftragic Thank you very much :) @tomtom Thanks - that's happening because it's bloody windy too!!! @daneau Thanks very much - come on over, we'd do nothing but make you welcome! @vankrey Thanks very much - come on over, there's room for more people yet! @ukandie1 Thanks very much :) @cailts Thank you very much, appreciated @blueberry1222 It's about time that it was at peace with itself! I think this deserves more than one fav from me!!!!!!!!! Will the exclamation points do the job??? This is absolutely stunning!!
The snow, the clouds, the mountain, the exposure the clarity etc etc. Love it.
@spanner Thanks very much @dibzgreasley Thanks, much appreciated @wearing0 Thank you very much...I felt watched... @trinda Wow, that's a lot of !!!!!!! Thanks very much indeed :) @annied Always tread carefully around those with shotguns and rocking chairs! @andrewkru Likewise. If I want any clarity then it's definitely "alone time". And thanks very much @terryliv Thanks very much...Swandris and white gumboots abound... @chippy1402 Thanks very much, I'll pass that on to Mother Nature! ;)
@yaorenliu Pretty much. I just slipped into a checked shirt and hoped for the best! Thanks very much. @tracelee Thank you very much @dide Thanks, much appreciated
@ceilidh I just googled the Mountains of Mourne. Sadly we never made it to Ireland in our 7 years in the UK...one hell of an oversight, so when we go back we'll fix that. I can see why you'd miss it, just like we missed our Mountain and hills while living in Hampshire! I'm pleased you like it :) @exouistitis Thanks very much...
First off - Brilliant capture! Secondly I can not believe you know that movie - I lived in those Georgia mountains where it was filmed - that's where I saw the possum picked up from the middle of the road for dinner - it was something else....I was glad to make it out alive ,.,but... I did grow an affinity to banjos bwahahahaha
Another amazing shot, Graeme. Terrific composition complimented by your b&w processing...stunning. Hope the banjo playing Rednecks didn't make you squeal too much!
I love the little fence leading the eye up into that fabulous misty covered mountain. You are scaring me....I never knew you had such a soft side ;) Well done, its a sure fav from me!
@creativefool Firstly, thank you very much. Secondly, I had a strange and unusual upbringing but yours sounds even better ;) @davie Thanks very much - I made it out alive but I'm walking funny... @happypat Bit of a different view alright, thanks very much @jacobwalsh89 Thanks, bit too cold for me though @roseolivia Thank you very much :) @lynnilou I think I've been possessed...please help. But thanks very much :)
Glad came to look at your project not stumbled across this in my feed. Its a fav. That white cloud is very dramatic. Brillant in b and w. And @lynnilou you don't need to look far to find Mr S soft side. The rest is all a front. I have seen through him. Did you miss his image of a broken pencil saying he would be broken or something without his wife Kim? Now there's a man in touch with his emotions and willing to share them. Don't be fooled no more by his skilful theatre.
@graemestevens I think your bark is way worse than your bite!!! As @gigiflower says - you are a softie at heart! :) We have all seen right through you!
@louuncouth All thanks should go to Mother Nature...
