The Man Himself by graemestevens

The Man Himself

This a photo of a photo of Len Lye, after whom our new gallery is named. The kinetic sculpture in the foreground is called "Grass" and when moving it sways like long grass being moved by the wind...it's also one of the smallest Len Lye Sculptures that I've ever seen but I have it on good authority that size isn't everything.
Great shot!

of course it isn't - it is how you wield it
I would have to see that sculpture to decide if I like it - much modern art sh*ts the hell out of me

There is an interview in National Radio about this, I have downloaded and must listen to it tomorrow. Got to make a trip to this fantastic place.

@annied Well, NZ is still stuck in the 60's that I guess this could be modern...
@shazzym Thank you very much :)

looks good, I like kinetic sculptures. The family thought I had done an installation last weekend when I opened a very large packet of loo rolls and arranged them in a pattern up the stairs ready to be taken up, says a lot about my art if they think that

@graemestevens *raising eyes*

@vignouse It's all smoke and mirrors - Mrs. S saw the shot first as well, so I'm just a cheap copy
