Reasons why Christmas has been escorted from the house:
On Christmas Eve the electrical system in our house had a coronary and failed miserably, leaving us with no hot water, an oven but no cook top, no lights, no power on one wall of the lounge, no power at all in the kitchen, laundry, dining room or hallway and light but no working power points in the daughters room. We had an electrician friend of ours come over yesterday to inspect and hopefully repair but so far he has been unable to figure out what has gone wrong, despite numerous tests, poking, prodding and sticking of the tongue out of the right hand corner of mouth, followed by much hemming and hawing...so, bathing at the beach is the order of the day(s).
On the bright side, my power bill will be so low this month that I may even be able to afford to pay it.
I am a confirmed and certifiable nutbar with a penchant for skulls, bones, blood, guts, fire and anything slightly peculiar and mostly bizarre. I also...
We woke up with the flu, and the power out. At our house that means no water at all, hot or cold due to being on a well with electric pump. I do camp so have the means to cook and create light in my gear.
@deliad I haven't smiled since 1978, but yes... ;) @joysabin We've improvised and seem to be living through the experience @kategoring Thanks very much :) @pdulis Thank you very much :)
@spanner Not sorted and all and now the dishwasher has fried itself out of sheer spite. Sigh. @dide I have trouble staying afloat in the shower, so it's definitely not me surfing... @jack4john True, but now I have a reason to do so... @kerosene Thanks - the hardest part has been using the iPod and camera sparingly as I have nowhere to charge them!
@tracie8266 Thanks very much and yes, bugger it. And because it's the "holiday season" we can't get anyone in to fix it for another week yet! @joansmor I know...worrying isn't it
@tracie8266 We could have had it fixed but I'm not willing to pay $95 an hour just because it's the week between Christmas and New Year, not to mention the "urgent call out fee" of $150. For that price we'll carry on improvising.
Fantastic action shot. And who really needs to bathe and have light man? Do you own your house or does it own you. Haha, I would make an awesome hippie :)
I hope it gets rectified soon for you.
I think this photo is tremendous! The pink sparkles defy identification! Must be wave fairies! Did your electrician check the basement? I seem to remember some wild and hairy person down there!
Very nice surfing shot slicing right through that water! It's funny how things conspire to get you to go to the beach during the holidays. Glad you managed to fix this problem.....it sounds downright inconvenient!
