$15! by graemestevens

$15!

I seem to owe you all a few fillers, of which this is one. But a cheap one. I don't even know if it still works but we picked it up in a second hand shop for $15, along with about a 1000 slides.
Great tones, love old stuff!

@btwebb Thanks - not sure what we'll do with it but it will have a place. And, after plugging it in, a new bulb.

cool old stuff, even cooler if it still works

Great find, it will be interesting to see what's on the slides.
April 20th, 2016
@adayinmallacoota Some of them are blank but yes, once we get a bulb...
April 20th, 2016
how interesting, I buy this kind of thing too and 1000 slides has to be a few interesting ones in there, you can get a little gadget that will use your phone and digitize them...

Fab high key! Great find, old stuff is awesome, would be interesting to see what's on the slides. :)

Nice bit of kit. The slides may prove interesting......... A friend of mine inherited a load of old photographic equipment when his aged uncle died. (that's where I got some of my darkroom equipment from) but the most interesting thing was the collection of thousands of film negatives. Including hundreds of shots of a very buxom naked lady who my friend had never met before. The secret life of old uncle Brian. :).

Very cool - I'm quite envious!

Love the high-key on this old trouper, works very well. I await a report on the 1000 slides' contents.

@golftragic Thanks very much - the hard part may be tracking down a bulb
@linnypinny Thank you very much :)
@swillinbillyflynn Good ol' Brian ;)

@graemestevens Yes, good point.

uncanny...we had a slide day on the weekend...unit still worked but a bit stiff with the 'auto' changer...lol...slides were still in remarkable condition after 45+ years!
April 21st, 2016
@maree_sanderson That is uncanny. If it's any consolation I wasn't thinking of you when I bought it ;)
April 21st, 2016
Like everyone else, I'm looking forward to finding out what's on the slides. If this projector doesn't work, you should be able to pick up another in working condition for not very much money... try eBay.

@vignouse eBay to NZ is a bit of a nightmare in terms of delivery...something to do with being a colony I believe. I've had a brief look through the slides and about half of them are blank. Only 500 to go.
April 21st, 2016
@graemestevens ...good...that would be weird
April 21st, 2016
Ooh! Slides!!! Any norty ones???
April 21st, 2016
So cool- love the retro stuff! You never know what you can do with things.
April 21st, 2016
@tabbycat I hope not...they look fairly old and I have no desire to see someone posing seductively in a sepia swimsuit ;)
@joysabin I was thinking that once I get a new bulb it would be an ideal light source for some hobby or other ;)
April 22nd, 2016
@graemestevens Haha! You make yourself sounds a tad prudish there. ...which I HIGHLY doubt! 😜
April 23rd, 2016
@tabbycat I don't want to give away all my secrets ;)
April 23rd, 2016
Ooh, I rember these from when I was a little boy in school… :-)
January 24th, 2017
@bankmann You and me both ;)

This. Is. Awesome!
I recently found a stash of my dad’s slides (four carousel trays) from the early 50s into the 80s. My slide projector isn't as old as this, but I'm waiting on a replacement bulb, https://365project.org/rhoing/365/2024-02-11
