mapping sound

The cabinet stereo that we recently had move in with us also came with the original manuals and schematics for servicing...now all we need to do for the refurbishment to begin is make some sense of them.
Somewhat disturbingly, this is possibly the most "normal" selfie that I have ever taken...view it as a rare glimpse in to one of my more lucid moments.
With all those well preserved instructions, this stereo sounds as if it a top piece of equipment! Glad its not in a museum!

The most feared language associated with any new ownership.... "some assembly required." You appear to be unmoved by the pile of paperwork, too... very mature of you!
September 4th, 2016
Nice retro feel and a gentleman always reads the instructions. Now, following them, that is a whole different enchilada. Good luck and have fun.
September 4th, 2016
@joysabin At least now I'll know where I went wrong!
@rosiekerr Hang on a minute...did you just call me old?? :)
@maggiemae You and me both - now we just have to get it working properly!
September 4th, 2016
Nicely done, Graeme! Fave!
September 4th, 2016
@juliedduncan Thank you very much - at least you didn't call me "normal" ;)
September 4th, 2016
Nice to see one of your more lucid moments...as for me, reading manuals with all that small print tends to turn me into a raving nutter.
September 4th, 2016
@gardencat I was already a raving nutter so no damage done ;)
September 4th, 2016
your eyebrow is working hard
September 4th, 2016
Love it. love the clarity of the papers and the angle of the shot works so well
September 4th, 2016
@carla42 Thank you very much :)
@annied It usually does when I see instructions...
September 4th, 2016
Very studious
September 4th, 2016
@brigette Every now and then I take things seriously. I'm sure it will pass.
September 4th, 2016
I was going to ask why this appeared so normal,then I read your words. I loved the big cabinet stereo my parents had, probably the most expensive furniture ever to enter my childhood home.
September 4th, 2016
Nice!
September 4th, 2016
@shylaine3304 Thank you kindly :)
@pandorasecho My parents had one as well, I'm looking forward to getting this one up and running :)
September 4th, 2016
Oh, you do look pensive......
September 4th, 2016
@shepherdmanswife It happens sometimes...
September 4th, 2016
Glad to see you RTFM :)
September 4th, 2016
@graemestevens I came pretty darn close, though! Using a form of the word "nice" wasn't very "nice", was it? Sorry! ;)
September 4th, 2016
Have fun with that!
September 4th, 2016
Good luck with the instructions. @joysabin `s comment made me smile
September 4th, 2016
Fabulous shot!
September 4th, 2016
Very studious!

Normal is good!
Have fun with that!
September 4th, 2016
@radiogirl Normal is never a good sign - that just means I'm closer to snapping ;)
@pasttheirprime It happens occasionally ;)
@hiro Thanks very much :)
@susale thanks very much :)
@blueberry1222 I don't know if "fun" is the right word...
@hermann Someone around here has to ;)
September 4th, 2016
At first glance, I thought you were plotting an attack in Game of Thrones. Think my version is a lot more exciting but have fun deciphering which knobs to turn, so to speak :)
September 4th, 2016
@jesperani It does sound much more exciting...I think I might have to change my story...
September 4th, 2016
Excellent B&W so nice and clear
September 4th, 2016
Love this shot. Perfect style of processing
September 4th, 2016
great processing. as you say, disconcertingly normal
September 4th, 2016
Crikey, all those instructions! Good luck.
September 5th, 2016
@888rachel I know...help!
@pistache Distressingly so...
@rachelwithey Thank you very much :)
@elizmafourie Thank you very much :)
September 5th, 2016
You do look very ordinary but I like it. Another FAV.
September 5th, 2016
@susiangelgirl Thank you very much - it's most "normal" that I'm ever likely to look...
September 5th, 2016
I have never had to scroll so far down to leave a comment..perhaps that is comment enough in itself!! Clearly your normal selfie has interested us all.
September 5th, 2016
@hrs Sorry about that. It probably won't happen again.
September 5th, 2016
Kas
Very well composed. Very 'ponderful' (I know - not a real word). Hopefully you don't have too many screws left over.
September 5th, 2016
@wag864 There will always be screws left over...it happens every time!
September 5th, 2016
Contemplative. Nice to see the 'normal' you xx
September 5th, 2016
Very different , great none the less....
September 5th, 2016
@jack4john Thank you - it won't happen again
@psychographer Yes, sorry about that
September 5th, 2016
Great environmental portrait... Fav!
September 5th, 2016
@vignouse Thank you very much, always appreciated. I do find this kind of "normal" scene quite disturbing though...
September 6th, 2016
This is awesome - I love your normal selfie! Not that disturbing if you ask me... I can't begin to think how you would go about refurbishing such an oldie-but-goodie piece of equipment, but that's great you're doing it...
September 6th, 2016
@kerosene Admittedly I need help with some of the bits that have wires, but the rest...well, we'll see what happens
September 6th, 2016
Holy crap, this is you???
This is an excellent image. I like the 'normal' you.
I can help with the wire bits.
Congrats for getting this one on the curated page too.
September 6th, 2016
@bill_fe Thank you very much - it should be a challenge but we'll get there
September 6th, 2016
This is pretty cool Graeme! Fav.
Its a long way down to the end of this page!
September 6th, 2016
@dibzgreasley Thank you very much - I feel the same way when I'm filling out a form online and have to scroll that far just to find my age!!!
September 6th, 2016
Mr Serious! A very good self portrait
September 10th, 2016
@yrhenwr I'm back on my meds now so it won't happen again ;)
September 10th, 2016
Nice to see the real you for once. :)
September 11th, 2016
@swillinbillyflynn Or is this the fake one???
September 11th, 2016
@graemestevens I guess some of us just grow into our alter ego's. :)
September 11th, 2016
@swillinbillyflynn Some of us can't even control them ;)
