23F is what the thermometer said when I took this shot this morning. For Alabama that is cold. The ice shown here is on the pond by my front door. For another view in warmer weather look at http://365project.org/grammyn/365/2011-09-09
@mhatch Oh My Word!! Where do you live?! Not trading you! ;~} I have lived in Alabama for 21 years so these temperatures seem cold to me. Thanks for the compliment.
The lines in the ice make the picture..of course that leaf half way sstuck between the ice helps too. I really like it. yesterday was the coldest day this season so far....I bet it was minus 10 -12 degrees celcius...but since it was windy it felt so much colder. this morning I couln't open up the bedroom windows. they were frozen shut. today it warmed up a bit.
Fab! Love the leaf half in and half out and I don't know if it's the lines in the ice or exactly what, but you've done a great job of showing how thin the layer of ice is. And the leaves in the foreground are perfect!
@marilyn Thank you so much for liking what I did about the whole shot. Phil was trying to tell me which one to use and I didn't like his suggestions because they didn't have the elements you just mentioned. Thanks again.
And you're right, we can have nice shots even when it's cooold.
