On our way to dinner at the Chinese buffet tonight I was playing around with the shutter speed on my camera. This is the light from the traffic in front of us and it looked like Chinese noodles to me.
@marilyn Thanks so much. I didn't look really close at it until now I just liked the overall effect when I posted it. There are cars approaching us, cars ahead of us, a green light and I have no idea what the yellow is.
@karenann I'm not laughing because I have had my camera for a little over six weeks and I am just now discovering mine. You will learn it if you give yourself time. See above for the explanation of some of the colors.
@karenann We have similar cameras...mine is adjusted by the hard, plastic dial or wheel toward the front right. It changes to things like 1/100, 1/125, 1/200, etc.. I think that means the shutter opens and closes in one one hundreth of a second, one one hundredtwenty fifth of a second and so on....so the higher the bottom number, the faster that shutter opens and closes....also important for shooting flying birds/moving things. You want that shutter on 1/1000! but then, because it is open and shut so fast, it doens't let in much light, so you have to up your ISO setting, a little plastic button on the right side. It is not too hard...it just sounds hard. but I am starting to get it...I got my camera four months ago I think...got a long way to go, but have learned some. :0)
@karenann Oh no! Pooh! No you are not. :) I have had my camera longer I think.... and I guess I may be a tad obssessive compulsive, as witnessed in my color organized closet. Hee hee
@espyetta@karenann I am so glad I was able to bring you two together! ;~} This is the second picture of mine that you are having conversations on! LOL! I hope it is helping my comment numbers!! ;~}
You know, Katy, I noticed that last night . . I felt kind of bad using your site for that! Join in or kick us out! LOL I think that you and MaryBeth are both great people on here and wouldn't hurt either of you for anything. :)
