I spent a portion of my last day trying to find souvenirs for my children and 13 grandchildren that would be small enough to fit into my backpack! Ruth was ever so kind to take me to a shop that seemed to have all that was required. As I was packing it into my bag I discovered a few things that I hadn't purchased! Ruth explained she wanted me to have some things for myself too.
In the back is a bag for holding make up or pencils or whatever I want. On the left a miniature argileh (a water smoking pipe) refrigerator magnet. In the center a Christmas ornament in the style of the traditional shoes. On the right a key chain. Not shown is the little hand crocheted sachet bag with olive oil scented soap that is already in my lingerie drawer. These will keep my trip ever at hand and in my mind. Thank you Ruth.
I think this is fabulous!!!! Fav...it should be an advert for the shop, perfect background and lighting, you got the colours and textures spot on. I'll be waiting for some incredible shot of caterpillars sitting on toadstools smoking from that pipe....come on you can do it!!!!! @m9f9l

Wow!! This is fantastic news!! I can imagine how great it was to be there and to be with such a great friend ... The photos are lovely. LOVE that bag! The only thing missing was me!! lol :) :) p.s. Gorgeous! I am so amazed you went there to meet up with Ruth! I know she is amazing, but that is so far away! I think it is terrific! I would have gotten a X mas tree ornament too! Then you remember it once a year at least.
What a nice thing for Ruth to do and what a nice thing for you to do, get gifts to bring home for your kids and grandchildren. I look forward to a seeing that pipe in a frogs mouth, you can do that. lol Too funny. Enjoy your treasures and the memories.
@grammyn It is so nice what Ruth did for you and your trip. Memories like this last a lifetime. It is nice to also have this very special friendship and to see how Ruth lives. Where do you live again? My husband asked as I mentioned your trip and I could not remember what state.
