Starting a fire in our fireplace insert provided a little smoke that came into the room instead of going up the chimney. Fortunately my camera was right there because it only lasted a minute and the sun streaming in the window made it easy to see the smoke against the black rug. Not as dramatic as a set up shot but good enough for a Happy Accident!
