Hedy and Stwo are very new toys for me. Today they got together with probably my very first toy which is almost ancient. My dad won this teddy bear at a carnival for me before I was a year old! As you can see he is very love worn.
aww! That is so sweet! Before you were a year old. I bought Erin a HUGE brown teddy bear with a red bow tie at a drug store before she was actually born. Through all the "clean outs" her mom made her do, she held on to it. I last saw it perched way up on the top shelf of her closet. I am afraid by now (she is 19 and off at college but it is in town so she visits her house) she has forgetten the story of how I bought it for her before she was born and how as a crawling infant, she would put her fist in her mouth, touch the bear, and its cheap hair would come off on her wet hand. Then she'd suck her hand and that hair would get in her mouth. Yuck. She used to beam from ear to ear to hear that story. She loves to hear my stories of her childhood.
do you still play with this? :-D i'm joking! you can see it is of very good material or it won't withstand the test of time. good for you for keeping it well. and the little ones love it, too, as you can see from their facial expressions :-)
@marilyn Poor much loved teddy! My husband wanted to get rid of it once and I told him I have had the bear longer than you . If one has to go it WON'T be the bear! ;~} @madamelucy he has always been a part of my life. @summerfield I do not but read what I told Marilyn above. he lost his eyes years ago and needs to be stitched in a few places but for his age he is holding up really well! Much better than any bear of today would after the same amount of time! @mikegifford They look like it don't they? @francoise LOL! I may have to think about that! ;~} @anazad511 Thanks Ana! I think so! My children complain about what a hoarder I am but someday the might be glad l didn't throw all their toys away too.
