My dad, who will be 90 this year, volunteers at a thrift store run by the retirement community he lives in. After my mother passed away I encouraged him to walk more for his health so he walked to his job. I felt like a mother watching her child walk to school for the first time as I told him good-bye and took a quick shot of him on his way!
Although he is in the hospital right now (May 3) I hope when he goes home he will start walking again! ♥
It is so hard to leave him alone, Katy. You have done what you can do and sounds like he lives in a great place with wonderful people too. I did not know he is in the hospital. Hoping for a speedy recovery.
This figure doesn't look 90! Walking keeps one's muscles and ligaments strong - I wish I could get my husband to walk! What did you say to get him to agree?
@ruthmouch Thanks so much, Ruth for your thoughtful support! He is getting better every day!
@olivetreeann He is a rugged old guy! Thanks so much, Ann!
@maggiemae He has always been very active and i told him he would feel better if he got more exercise. It might hurt at first but consistency would make it better! He is a great dad to listen to me!
@summerfield Still iin a rehab facility on the campus where his home is located so partially home. Certainly more accessible to his friend now!
I would have loved to come to the barbecue! My heart was there but my body was here takiing care of a sick husband!
Such a poignant pic. I've pleased he's out of hospital by now and that he'll soon be home. And now you've got a sick husband on your hands as well! Oh dear, Katy! Holding thumbs everything will come right for you soon.
@kwiksilver ;~} No worries, Gillie! Dad's on the mend nicely and hubby just has a small case of bronchitis that the Dr has prescribed some medicine for so he is also fast on the road to recovery! Thanks for stopping by. ♥
@nanalisarocks I appreciate you taking the time, Lisa. Thanks!
@lesip Thanks bunches, Leslie! It hasn't been easy! He lives 2,300 miles away and it frustrating to deal with it long distance!
@darsphotos Thanks for your support and well wishes. It means so much to me!
@deb60 Thanks, Deb! I'm glad you like it and hope he gets home soon too!
