I found this letter in a pile of letters I brought back from my dad's house. I know it was meant for me to see because it was in a stack that I randomly picked from a large box of letters between him and mom before, during, and after they were married.
When I was born women routinely spent a week in the hospital after giving birth. My sister was born a year after I was and that left dad to stay home with the "baby"...me...while mom was in the hospital with my new sister. The hospital was in another town and I don't know if my dad went to visit or just sent letters.
If you read this letter you will see that he truly was an exceptional man...something I already knew but now you have evidence of it too.

I love every single detail, the stationary, your abilty to keep your father on his toes, and the underlining of his great feats. Yes, I love this. ♡♡♡♡
WOW! I'm so impressed...my dad was a wonderful man, but we have often laughed about the fact that he couldn't make himself a sandwich without mom standing by to oversee the process! And your dad did all the housework AND took care you. What a priceless treasure you have - thanks for sharing.
stop moving too much, will ya! :-) this is so heart warming, "kathy" i love old pictures and old letters, they are kind of romantic, even if the subject was your pants.
