Parts

I have been planning for a year to get some of these cotton parts for a craft but I have to wait until the farmer harvests his field so what I take is leftover and not part of his crop. Today was the day he harvested and since it is supposed to rain tonight I wanted to get my parts before the rain ruined the pieces left in the field.
What an interesting composition with the shadows

A lovely still life with the cotton boles and leaves and stems. I especially like the light on the leaves and the shadows.

Beautiful details of the cotton. I hope we get to see a photo of what you create.

i like your lighting and your set up. aces!

did you know that the bols disintegrate after some time? i have mine hanging on a branch in a vase on top of the fridge and when i was dusting the other day, there was a powder-like stuff below the bol and when i moved the vase, the bol just fell into a heap of powder.

@summerfield wooot??? I have a branch adorned with some of my owlish friends. It's so old. I need to check it. It is in a place where it doesn't move. Not even for dusting 🙃 now i'm worried.

@milaniet I am glad you like it! I debated whether to use more light to eliminate them or not!
@randystreat I am glad you like it Kathy because I debated whether to keep the shadows or not
@shutterbug49 I appreicate that Debbie and I plan to show it but l am not sure when!
@summerfield Thank you so much That disturbs me because I have several branches here that I have had for years and have never seen that happen before. The bolls will sometimes fall out of the bracts because of gravity but never in a powder that I have ever seen!
@madamelucy Thank you Terri! It is one of the most facinating discoveries I made when I moved to the south!
@eudora probably a boring subject for you so thank you for the positive comment Diane!

Nicely captured! I like the white on white feel of it with the brown accents of the stems and bracts. Great flat lay!
