A Trying Day In the Kitchen

Suffice it to say I was elbow deep in cookies today when I remembered I was going to show my efforts. Someone I know had asked for gingerbread cookies and I found a spritz recipe for them so decided to give it a go. Now I remember why the cookie press had been relegated to a cupboard. Those little devils didn't want to come out for anythihg! Most of them ended up looking like blobs but here you see just a few camels and Christmas trees. It will be a while before I do this again!
Been there done that with the same results. Guess I'm just not cut out to be a baker - Like your trees.

No wonder I stick with chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal and shortbread. I can’t ever get them out of the mold either. I think these in the photo look good though.

These look pretty good and I'm sure they smell wonderful!

Oh boy, cookies! Me love cookies!

They don't look bad Katy, I am sure they taste better than they look though! Long ago we used to bake an awful amount of cookies when the girls were still at home Christmas time. I found that only the consistency of the dough was the problem with them not coming out.

They are pretty good and I bet they taste nice

Who cares, they look good enough to eat and that’s what is important.

Okay, I won't try that.

The trees are adorable - nicely done

The ones that made it turned out well. No more making spritz cookies for me.

I have an electric one of those somewhere .... I remember old times and having christmas cookie exchanges ... so many homemade cookies. Oh the calorie intake was inconceivable .

Thanks for the heads up! If I’m ever tempted to buy one of these—new or from a thrift shop—I’ll give it a pass. 🤣 Bet they tasted good, though.

@mcsiegle They didn’t taste very good with the trouble to get them was not worth it in my opinion.
December 16th, 2021
They look delicious. But yhou reminded me how tricky these cookies are. Maybe that is why I gave my cookie press away!
