Unlike so many of my friends I don't make my own cards. I have a friend who doesn't even sends cards but uses the money not spent on cards and stamps to help someone in need at Christmas. I think that is a lovely sentiment but I am old school and still try to connect with a card. Today was the day for that effort to get started. I might only be halfway done. I will do more tomorrow
I didn't for many years but started up again with a much shorter list. It is definitely a labor of love! My last one went out this morning. Nice photo representation.
Great vignette! Your address book looks like mine. I have a newer one but somehow can never get rid of that that well used one. So nice that you still do this!
Finished mine a few days ago. I had grand ambition to make my own, but ended up buying a box at Walmart. Ha ha! Oh well, it's the thought that counts. We should give ourselves a pat on the back that we even got through it this year, right?! :)
only special people get a home made card! even specialler people have thier card displayed when it's here. Love this compositin of traditional tools and cards
Your address book looks a bit like mine - weathered and beaten - well used. Can't rely on the computer address book - peoples details seem to change so often.
@linnypinny Thank you Lin It is nice to keep in touch like that even in this electronic age isn't it? @joansmor I totally get that Joan @digitalrn IT can be just one more thing to do at an already busy time of year @wyomingsis I have for some time but my list is getting a bit shorter too. Still have at least half to go @shutterbug49 that is a great idea @milaniet I thought so too @madamelucy So glad you like this. I had a newer one but it was too much trouble to change everything over so I still use this one that is probably 50 years old @ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana. I imagine I will slow down or stop soon too. Electronics have changed so many things @kjarn There is just something so satisfying about it isn't there? @tinley23 It is very crazy during, Lesley, but also very stisfying when it is done @juliedduncan You are ahead of me. I always intend to start early and end up realizing I only have a few days left and the PO won't deliver overnight with a regular stamp! I have given up worrying about if they get there befroe Christmas or not. I am going with what you said, "it's the thought that counts" @30pics4jackiesdiamond I'm feeling really special tonight. So glad you like my photo! @wakelys I do too! @louannwarren I get that and yours was so nice @maggiemae I am still old school whne it comes to this. I have had this one fro probably 50 years @randystreat I am glad you do Kathy. Funny that you recognize some of these. I always get a few too
Nice set up! I did no Christmas letter, just a couple of random comments from each of us last year. This year no letter or comments, but I did design my own card which was not easy since I currently have a serious lack of editing tools at my disposal and didn’t want to search for more. Then my address label list decided to throw up all over the pages in my screen so I had to redo it. Then my return address labels decided to not print in their allotted spaces. For what was supposed to be an easier year for me… it wasn’t! 🤷♀️
those are very nice cards, very traditional. meanwhile, i am a lazy corresponder and my card-sending efforts are sporadic at best. two years ago, i sent a card to an old friend who sent back a card of his own saying he thought he heard that i have died that's why i don't send cards anymore. i wrote back saying i did die, and apologized for not letting him know. 🤣
Nice shot, with the well-used address book. Many of my friends have gone to emails, but I still send some cards. It was sad this year, as we've lost some friends and others have moved to retirement facilities.
@summerfield LOL So glad you didn't really die and what a horrible friend he was! Glad you like all my cards and not to worry about corresponding as I am the same @eudora That book has been through a lot. We have whittled our list down for the same reasons and it is sad
