It was a wet and foggy morning when I went to the small creek that runs through our town and the small dam that is used mostly for flood control now, although its original purpose was to power a gin mill manufacturing plant when it was built in 1838. This photo is from the opposite side of the creek behind the dam.
Beautifully composed. I love the juxtaposition of the craggy branch in the foreground with the perfect Christmas tree in the middle ground and the forest-y layers of trees in the background. The chimney on the right also balances the Christmas tree beautifully. The fog adds the perfect touch. Definitely a fav for me!
I like the mist. My first thought when I saw this was there used to be a mill in this town. Local textile mills had rivers/creeks/water passing by their industrial brick buildings.
@maggiemae It does look like it would overflow but the dam is off to the right and that keeps the level low @summerfield thanks! LOL!
