For this particualr candy bar the ONLY eclipse it will probably see. For me not my first but probably my last. We had 93% coverage today. The first shot is near the beginning and the last shot is a minute away from our totality. The shot in the middle is a colander with al the little holes showing a partial eclipse if you look very carefully. Sometimes the shadows are as interesting as the eclipse itself
it was a teaser here in toronto. just as it got to totality, what few minutes we would have had, thick heavy clouds set in. it still got dark, eerily. then an hour after that, total clearing of the sky. hard luck! that's us here. nice collage. aces!
@mcsiegle Thanks Mary and I can assure you it won't be! @30pics4jackiesdiamond this is the third eclipse we have seen since 2017 and during one of those someone mentioned to use a colander. Explanation below @summerfield thanks friend and at least you could experience the difference in the light! @linnypinny thank you Lin and I am sorry you missed it @joansmor thanks Joan was it total where you live? @randystreat thank you Kathy Explanation below @tunia LOL can't give up on THAT @olivetreeann I am so sorry @koalagardens what a great idea but I didn't buy THIS one. A friend gave me a variety of English candy bars for my birthday and this is one of them @ludwigsdiana Oh, Diana thank you so much @kjarn thanks Kathy and see my reply to her @darchibald there will be one in 2044 which I could possibly see but probably won't unless I do whatever it is you will be doing to see the one in 120 years! @briaan Oh Biran that means so much to me @louannwarren Thanks so much Lou Ann I loved the expserienc etoo!
For those of you that commented about the difficulty seeing the eclipse in the colander, I am sorry. The holes were really too small but it was all I had. It is a little more easily seen with the candybar image. The circles should be completely round and they have a little flat looking spot on the bottom right which is the eclipse image. I guess you had to be there!
Great collage and nice use of the colander. We had only about a 30-35% coverage. We were able to see the progress a few times when the sun (and moon) peeked through the clouds.
@johnfalconer I’m so glad you think so John @marilyn this is the third eclipse that we have had since 2017. None of them have been total, but they’ve all been significant. This one and the one in 2017 were basically clear skies and the other one which was just a year or two ago, but I can’t remember exactly what year, we had some cloud covers, but they were still enough clear sky clear sky to see it sporadically
Now that's a good idea @koalagardens
