Crater Lake National Park, Oregon .... 5 miles Iwide and ringed by 2,000' tall cliffs, according to the guide book...formed 7700 years ago with the explosion of the volcano, Mt Mazama. It has a depth of 1943 feet and they say that it is so clear tat sunlight can penetrate to 400'. That we did not see on these foggy, snowy days. We arrived just in time to see the lake, see the sky clear, see the rainbow before it all started to disappear.
