Eye of the Heron

Photographing birds only happens when they happen to be directly in front of me. As this guy was. I've never seen one before on the beach, usually more inland. The tides were high, the winds strong, lots of coral and a few dead fish had washed ashore. Mr Heron, here, seemed to be looking out wistfully.
Nice! Yes, very windy lately.

You have even managed to get the tiny tuft on his head - which actually tells him which way the wind is going! Did you know this....lol!

Great shot, I find it so hard to get shots of herons, they always see me coming.

@jodies I know! This one just stood there. Quite strange...I was really surprised I could get close enough to actually get his/her eye!
