The project is very flexible. For me, it is taking a photo every day and pistinf when I can. Usually, for me, that's within a few days. In this case, I happened to notice on my album that I had neglected to upload for a day in January. I reviewed my files & uploaded a shot I'd taken on that day so that there would be no gaps. For me it was important to upload from that very day.
That said, everyone does it anyway that works for him or her. There are no hard and fast rules. So enjoy the project as you interpret for yourself.
