Splash in the Pan

I have never been brave enough to try motion shots...either panning or freezing or whatever..anything I've done was pure accident. So I started to read about panning. Panning seemed a way to go, but is very daunting in its execution. And being I was too tired/lazy to go out this afternoon, decided to start with something I could control...Not much distance, so not much difference in focus and background....but it's a start for me, nonetheless. That's one small step anyway..
your liquid looks viscous enough to be oil. Whatever the substance it's pouring in a lovely continuous stream.. i like it against the red..
the longest of journeys starts with the first step and this is a step in the right direction :-)
the only issue i would have is with the distracting right-hand edge.. it steals the eye from the star of the show.. and it's larger and brighter too.

@jorlam Thank you for your insights...the liquid is water, the object to the right is the faucet through which it is flowing. I opted to leave in the faucet as I thought it too lacking with just the water flow and also felt it added value in repeating the vertical line, but now with a curve to balance off the straight quality of the flow. I really enjoy our conversation and seeing shots through your eyes. Thank you always.

Great idea - I really like the detail of the mirrored reflection where the paint leaves the can.

@brett101 This shot is actually water coming down the kitchen faucet...faucet on top and right...there is a piece of red oak-tag behind the water.
