Jan is still suffering with a sore throat after some 3 weeks so she decided to go and see the Doctor today. We left work a little early and I dropped her off at the surgery at 5pm, then went off to pick up Ben and Sam. We had time to waste before picking her up so we stopped for 5 minutes to do a few photos over the motorway.
I thought I would have a go at a few longer exposures, which is pretty hard if you do not have a tripod with you! I have seen these done before to great effect, but have never actually tried it myself. This is 'hand held', braced against a bridge railing for 8 seconds on a very windy evening. There is some shake in there, and i have 'tidied up' some of the worst of it, but it was the best of the lot. Just don't look too closely!
I think that it worked ok for a first try, and I should probably go back some time with a tripod (preferably when there is less wind) and do it properly.
this is a great shot - i usually jiggle my camera and so just end up with lots of blurring and nothing interesting - must get out the tripod and try again
Tom, this being hand-held, you deserve 10 at-a-boys! I hope Jan gets over her sore throat. And I would love to see more shots of your two sons! Totally unrelated to the shot I know.
@mariadarby Don't Worry. I think the bar is going to come down to rock bottom any time soon. I am running out of ideas again! Perhaps two coat-hangers again tomorrow!
