Moonscape

Ok, not strictly a moonscape, but a landscape with the moon in it, but moonscape sounds better.

I went for a wander in the dark this evening. The moon was full so it was actually fairly light (apart from in the woods), and it was also quite mild for late November.

For some weeks I have been wanting to do a moon photo over the Malvern Hills, but it has either been cloudy, or too high in the sky, so it has never happened. I had noticed the full moon on the way home from work and wondered if it might be possible tonight, but it had moved around too far, and was far too high. I settled instead for some other moon type shots as it went in and out of clouds and behind trees. This was the one I liked the most.

This is actually 8 photos stacked to help remove high ISO noise.
I guess we all get the bug at full moon. I was too lazy to go out last night, and now we have overcast and a snowstorm, so perhaps next month for the obligatory "moon shot."

I am afraid the technique is beyond me at the moment.

Wonderful shot. Thankfully I got it yesterday because totally hidden today.

this is a beautiful shot of the moon and clouds - not sure what you mean about stacked photos....

Beautiful colours - well caught, I like it.

@ruthhowell Hi Ruth, Basically I took several photos (8 in this case) in quick succession and then merged them over the top of each other in Photoshop so that they all contribute an equal amount to the finished image (this is done by making each layer slightly more clear than the one below it - 100% at the bottom, 50%, 33%, 25% 20% etc). This has the effect of smoothing out the random noise cause by higher ISO shots. It only works on fairly static scenes, otherwise things jump about on each layer and ghosts or blurring occurs. Does that make sense?
