I collected the brake calipers from Stourport yesterday morning and finally got the brakes back on this morning. I started to bleed them and brake fluid sprayed out from one of the pipes. Need to replace the 6 inch piece of brake pipe. I was not optimistic that I would get one today and thought that I might need to order one, but took a trip over to Bromsgrove Motor Factors on the off chance and the helpful staff managed to put one together from what they had to hand.
I was rudely interrupted by having to take Sam out for his Birthday treat from Jo and Rob, but finished off when I got back, put the wheels back on, and the car was finally driven, if only back and forth on the drive, for the first time in nearly ten years. Had a big smile on my face.
The breaks are pumping up so will have to have another go at bleeding them, but I am on the home straight now. Nearly ready for the MOT.
