Robinia is a very troublesome newcomer. He comes from America, but feels very comfortable in Europe. It is a very expansive species and disturbs the natural environment. But when it blooms, it looks and smells wonderful. Plus, I really like Robinia honey!
I have been interested in photography all my life and remember quite well developing my first black and white films myself... My favorite subjects are...
Hi Hasker - this is a lovely image 0f this plant. I had never heard of it and Googled to see if was in Australia. It is - sold as a grafted tree on the roots of a very thorny Acacia tree. Apparently over here it is also a problem because it produces suckers from the roots - and the suckers are the thorny trees. Thanks for introducing me to this tree - and again - it's a lovely of its flowers. Cheers Rob
I saw this and thought it looked a lot like a white wisteria. Lovely capture with all the green surrounding the blooms. I guess if one likes this and wants it, one has to keep up with it and not let it become too invasive.
Yes I also thought it to be a wisteria which has the same habit and the leaves look the same -- I have suckers of the next door plant growing in my greenhouse -- as you can imagine I am not at all amused !! as each time I pull it up , it re-appears !!
Why are the noxious weeds always so darn pretty? I have a love/hate relationship with lantana much the same. The delicate little flowers with multiple colours draw me in, but so invasive!
Beautiful picture though, lovely light wrapping around the blooms and dof perfect.
