I love my roses! The garden is bursting at the seams with them - this year seems to be a particularly good one for them...Today, I cleared several jobs Off My Desk at last and the sun was shining so I rewarded myself with a little light gardening and flower arranging!
Here's sample of some of my favourite roses; Rambling Rector, New Dawn, Phyllis Bide, Madame Alfred Carriere, Emily Gray, Malvern Hills and "that pink one by the front door I can't remember the name of". Mum will recognise the jug; we bought it at a little shop in a village somewhere between Glasgow and Stirling when Ed was a baby...seems like a lifetime ago, and amazingly I've not managed to break it...I wonder if that shop's still there.
What a wondrous and cheery picture, Helen! At first glance I thought the large pink one was a peony but once I looked and you explained they are roses I could see the lush beauty in them.
Helen, these are gorgeous. I love roses, too. But I haven't actually grown any for a long time. Not sure why. But I do still love seeing beautiful pictures of them, such as this one.
