The old ash tree in the middle of our field doubles up as a multi-functional play structure solution for boys. It's had tree-houses and all kinds of swings, and there is currently some kind of shelter under construction on the other side of the trunk, out of sight in this picture. But I got quite a surprise when I noticed this new feature that Will and his friend, Matthew, had just added when they were playing there yesterday. They've suspended a pallet from a branch with an old riding bridle and added a couple of broken old chairs from the barn and a bottle of muddy water. Voila! The perfect al fresco dining experience!
He's going to make it as a cutting edge furniture designer - I love this. Fantastic idea. I noticed (on same walk as the dried seed heads!) a tree with a swing on it by the river today. It would fun to add a pallet table!
