The Virtual Naughty Step

I'm so sorry that I've not been commenting much lately. The combination of my real kids and dogs (x-rayed elbows/GCSE revision/long walks) and my fictional kids (their 7th adventure...they find an important dinosaur fossil, but who is trying to prove it's a fake and why?) has been taking up all my time and I'm just posting quick snaps so i don't end up with holes in my calendar.

It's the fictional kids who are causing me the most trouble at the moment. I just can't get the sequence of events right in the first few chapters. It's like one of those puzzles with the little tiles you have to slide around - you move one and all the others get stuck in the wrong place. To remind myself that it WILL all fall into place eventually, I'm posting this picture of the cover art for books 1 and 3 on the pinboard in my office. But for now, Emily Jack and Scott are on the virtual naughty step until they start to behave themselves. And Drift the dog too!
Good Luck with the books....hope it all falls in order soon!!!!

Oh I like those - proper retro covers and YOUR name in a cool font too!! In fact I think I learnt to read with that font. Keep going - it will be worth it for another one of these - I don't think I could come up with any plots - so clever!!!! Maybe if you walk round and round the Sidgwick you'll get inspired - or else dizzy - or failing that a nice photo as some of the banners are very photogenic!

Gosh you must feel so proud of yourself, what an achievement. Who does the illustration for the cover?

I hope they start behaving soon. Fun to see your book covers up on the wall.

An artist called Roy Knipe does the covers. There are also lovely line drawings inside by another illustrator called Leo Hartas. I'm very pleased with how the books look. It's just writing the words I'm having trouble with at the moment!
