It's very quiet at home with Will away on a school trip to Spain and Ed off to a sleepover with friends after school. I worked all day, still locked in mortal combat - today it was the plot misbehaving rather than the characters. This morning I tried a change of scene and headed off to the Gros Franck cafe in Hills Road. If you ever visit Cambridge by train, be sure to visit this lovely cafe near the station (don't waste time looking for the hills in Hills Road though. There are none. This is Cambridge, after all. I'm now wondering, was there a Mr Hills? Judith, help!). I enjoyed a cappuccino and an almond croissant and made a little progress with my chapter.
Oh, and in case you were worried, the slightly sinister figure in the top right window is a lady on a ladder painting the walls in the flat above the cafe!
I thought this was one of Helenes for a minute ;0) I'll have to consult that book about Cambridge street names that used to live near the coffee shop in Waterstones - bad place to have your book located when people like me use it like a library book and don't buy it!! I suppose if you keep going on Hills Road you get to the Gogs.
I can never decide if any photo I take would be better in black & white ! Mine never look just right when I try it but yours & others too look just perfect ! This picture has such a lot going on !
